Leader in the fight to allow all children in this area to attend a good school, public or private, near their home.
Reservoir Triangle Neighborhood Association - former President (6 terms) and Vice-President - worked on neighborhood crime watch; solving traffic problems; Gorham property;cheap oakley sunglasses saving open spaces; fixing up playgrounds; and helping people to know their neighbors and their neighborhood a little better.
Friends of Roger Williams Park - founding member
Providence Board of Park Commisssioners - served 12 years on board which oversees all city parks, playgrounds & ballfields.
Has been a member of the South Elmwood Neighborhood Association, Elmwood Foundation, Reservoir Avenue School PTO, Sacket Street School Magnet Advisory Committee, U.R.I. Hillel Foundation Board of Directors and countless other volunteer community groups.
Advocacy
Carlistle Field playground and Ballfield on Elmwood Avenue - Leader of successful fight to save playground and ballfield from being paved over into a parking lot.
Ardoene Street Playground - Responsible for major improvements to the tot-log, basketball courts, and ballfield.
Mashapaug Pond - Fought to build the new Community Boating Center and Murphy-Trainor park; leader in effort to preserve open space around the entire 2 mile shoreline; organizer of annual Festival for 15 years.
Youth
Boy Scouts - Former Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 17
Little League - former President and Vice-President of Elmwood Little League; Coach for 32 years. Helped build League to its current size of 600 boys and girls age 6 to 16 from this area; headed up project to build a 3rd ballfield at Niantic Avenue.
